This Time Together by Carol Burnett

This Time Together ~ Laughter and Reflection is a book of career anecdotes from Carol Burnett. Written in 2010, it covers many of the same stories of her classic TV show as her current book In Such Good Company, adding in memories covering her early days in theatre to developing "Hollywood Arms" - the autobiographical Broadway play written with her daughter, Carrie Hamilton

Carol regularly travels the country doing a stage show comprised of answering questions from the audience. This is a book of the most popular. She also talks of her early success on Broadway, nightclub performances, and then moving into TV. There is a large section devoted to stories about the co-stars of her show - Tim Conway, Harvey Norman, Lyle Waggoner and Vicki Lawrence - as well as meeting celebrities she looked up to like Cary Grant, Joan Crawford, and Julie Andrews. Moving beyond the eleven year show, she shares memories of shooting films like The Front Page, Pete and Tillie, and Annie. She even talks about her favourite soap All My Children, and the recurring role she was happy to play on it (Verla Grubbs, carnival queen).

She's had such a long and varied career, there is a lot to talk about. This isn't very 'in depth' as most of the anecdotes are one or two pages (it's a light read you can do in an afternoon) and she always keeps it on the positive. More a reminiscence than an autobiography, but funny and satisfying for those who are show biz fans.
